Kuba
An Abstract Strategy game for 2 players, of 20 min and light on rules. It plays with grid movement, square grid and slide / push. Recommended from age 8. The BoardGameGeek community likes it best with 2 players.
Kuba is a strategic abstract game for two players, blending tactical movement and spatial control. Played on a 7×7 board with recessed holes, each player begins with two groups of marbles in opposite corners, while thirteen red neutral marbles form a diamond shape at the center. On your turn, push one of your marbles (or a line of them) to shift rows or columns and potentially eject an opposing or neutral marble from the board. If you successfully push any marble off the edge—whether red or an opponent’s—you earn an extra move. Victory can be achieved in one of two ways: be the first to push off seven of the red neutral marbles, or eliminate all of your opponent’s movable marbles. Simple to learn but full of tactical depth, Kuba is a fast-paced abstract game in the tradition of Abalone or Push Fight, rewarding foresight and aggression in equal measure.
